Since joining mace i have had exposure to different areas of project controls. I have been responsible for owning the change management process and have also spent a considerable amount of time with information management practices. I have also had exposure to planning and risk management. i also attend university and have learnt about leadership and management and law in the built environment
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i thoroughly enjoy the programme that i am on. the team that i work within have consistently made an effort to be inclusive. the company culture is strong as the wider programme team make an effort to have regular catch ups and team bonding activities which makes it easier to build connections and relationships

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

i have learnt lots of new skills since joining mace. The most obvious is simple workplace etiquette. i have also developed upon my communication skills which has aided my confidence which allows me to ask questions more frequently to help develop my learning. i have also improved my organisation skills in order to stay on top of my work

How well organised/structured is your programme?

my programme is well organised. i have had multiple discussions with my line manager to discuss the potential to link my workplace learning to my university learning to ensure that i can fully develop and increase my practical learning. there are plenty of opportunities for me to develop myself at the correct times within my career
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Since joining mace i have received plenty of support. there are many different avenues if i am in need of aid from the emergin talent team, apprenticeship ambassadors, buddys, line managers and the rest of my project team. I have always had answers to my questions and if they do not know they will point me in the direction of someone that does.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive consistent and personalized feedback on my assignments outlining ways for me to improve my ability. this helps me to continually develop and improve my grades. they offer a student forum platform where we can ask questions and also hold weekly webinars where you are encourages to ask questions
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

At this point in my career, the modules that we have completed have been relevant to my job role meaning that I have an improved understanding of my job and its requirements. we have completed a contract law module which has helped me understand the different types of contract we have
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

there are plenty of additional opportunities for employees to get involved with including networking sessions, monthly calls to talk with members of the board, volunteer days and individual project teams tend to arrange team building and socializing events to help maintain morale. these are very enjoyable and useful for new starters

Why?
Mace are an outstanding employer that offers plenty of support for their employees. in addition to this they have plenty of opportunities for progression including various international opportunities. due to there being a large quantity of programmes/ projects in progress, it is easy to gain experience and exposure while building your network
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Mace?
Thoroughly research the company values and goals in order to understand the direction of the company. Ensure that you fully understand the role that you are applying for and research tools and methods used within the job to demonstrate that understanding. Come prepared with personal goals and how you plan to contribute to the company.
