Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a TDA, my role has two very distinct parts to it - University Study and Work Placements. Whilst at university, I am treated the same as any other student with full freedom to focus on studies.. On placement, I could be working with any Technology team within any LoS.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I really enjoy the programme and have made a lot of lifelong friends. The work is interesting and I am working with large clients. However, I would prefer if the work was more technical and Software Engineering focused.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes. Firstly, my degree has given me skills in C++, Java and SQL programming so far, as well as experience in working in a team. On placement, I have been empowered to learn about lots of different Tech teams in the firm, as well as upskilling sessions weekly.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is extremely well organised. Manager [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] is really knowledgeable and helpful with absolutely anything I ask.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive full holistic support both form PwC and the University through my manager, lecturers, personal tutor, Buddy programme and career coach.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
PwC separate our placement completely from our degree learning. So, i'm only ever focusing on one at any one time. This is great and has led to great results so far
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
My qualification has helped to some extent. However, the work I carry out on placement is often not relevant to what I learn at University. I have not had any coding experience at PwC and not many other TDAs have either.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes, there's lots of activities, events and social clubs. E.g. First fridays, 5-aside, running club, LGBT Shine, Virtual Park events, open evenings, Networking evenings and a lot more in the new office! (Yoga / HIIT on site!)

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The opportunities this programme create are unparallelled from any other organisation. There are so many teams to try, an amazing office, lovely staff. Not to mention the full funding and salary throughout.
