Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I am involved in offering professional services to clients. This involves joining client calls as well as internal ones, coding, debugging and reporting my findings.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy it very much. It has provided me with very valuable work experience, I made a network of people with common interests, and the salary allowed me to be financially independent.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Yes, I learned how to use new software programs, and I honed already existing data skills (data manipulation and visualisation). My inter-personal skills have also developed, as I am constantly working in teams.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is quite well-balanced. Time at University and time at work are separate, so there is no mix-up or conflict. Because I am in the first generation to do this apprenticeship, there were a few hiccups along the way in terms of clarity of next steps, but they have been resolved.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The employer is giving me a lot of support. Not only do we have core employee benefits (health insurance, support line), but we have a network of people who can help us (e.g. work buddy, career coach, business contact).
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The training provider is also very supportive. We have a personal tutor who is always in contact with us, who does above and beyond her job to ensure that we are doing well. There are also University-wide services which we can use for support, but I feel that finding an appointment slot can be tricky at times.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
My qualification through the University provides me with a strong foundation for my career. I was taught a lot of theoretical aspects, I was given some elementary examples, and I was introduced to team-working.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes, there are social committees we can get involved in. We can help in organizing events (e.g. quizzes, coffee roulettes, networking for a certain group/interest).
