Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
my role is to meet customer needs. serve on the till, whether it be a normal transaction or refund. do stock on delivery days. and help out with events such as counts or changeovers. and to train to become a duty manager hopefully signed off in the next couple of months.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
i really enjoy it because not only does it help me within my current job, it will help me with any future jobs. and can give me the knowledge i need for now and the future. it’s actually quite fun and i really suggest it to more
people who are thinking about it

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
i have, with this apprenticeship i didn’t realise how much there was to each factor of my job. for instance - deliveries. there is alot to consider like paper work, taking in delivery and how it’s ordered and sorted for shop floor, and much more that you don’t consider in the day.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
i think it’s really well organised. all of the modules are kind of in the order of how you can do them but not only that you can choose which modules and things you want to do next and can provide some good evidence for your work so you remember what you have learnt and when.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
i recieve a lot of support from my employer. there is always support for staff from managers and from talking shop reps and from whoever is doing your apprenticeship. there is always help and retail help for any body who is working within the store it’s really good for everyone
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
a lot. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the Higherin Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] helps you a lot and always provides support if you think you are struggling or falling behind or can’t manage the balance. and there is always support within the providers websites and things which will always help you pace yourself between the work you
do i store and online
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
very well because you learn alot more of the in depth things that you wouldn’t have particularly known before doing the apprenticeship! it’s really easy to miss key things or factors but when you do the modules and do the work you realise there is alot more to it!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
well within our store there are always every couple of months events that everybody can attend and socialise at. alongside actually planning store meet ups and parties and things like that. or even working with people in work and doing tasks together get you socialising. so yes there’s lots of opportunities.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Iceland Frozen Foods to a friend?
Yes
Why?
because they’re a good job, you can get to grips with it quite easily. and even for the harder jobs if you put your mind to it and do it more than a few times, and everyone gets along quite well and you build a family type relationship with everybody.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Iceland Frozen Foods?
just be yourself, that’s all they really want to see is you for you and how you are. and don’t pretend to be someone your not in interviews and things, and you can always work up to management if you choose to when working at iceland. so you can have better experience.
