Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I lead our informal resident involvement offer at Optivo, managing a small team of Project Officers and a Recruitment and Development specialist.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I do really enjoy the programme. I think Paragon have gone over and above to make it as enjoyable as possible for those who aren't as keen on virtual learning, like myself.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Delivering formal coaching sessions has been a new experience for me on the apprenticeship and whilst it uses some of my existing transferrable skills, my active listening and questioning skills have definitely developed on the programme.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
There have been a few teething issues in organisation on the programme, however I do understand that we're the first cohort to have this apprenticeship delivered, as it's a new national programme. I imagine they'll have learnt quite a lot for the next cohort's delivery. And the most important thing is the support is there.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
My employer has fully supported the programme and in particular from the L&OD Team, who've been great.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Paragon have provided lots of individualised support. The workshops have been great and my tutor is incredibly supportive and flexible.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I do think the qualification is helping me improve in my day to day management role but I'm most looking forward to being able to be part of a wider organisational coaching / mentoring programme going forward too.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Prior to the pandemic there were a range of social and cultural activities to get involved in. There are virtual ones in their place at the moment (e.g diversity and wellbeing events and activities) and I imagine there'll be blended approach going forward.
