Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Working in store ranges from bakery, to non-food set up and managing the shift. Then in the warehouse you get the opportunity to experience picking and shadowing a assistant team manager on a shift. Within HR, you sift through applications and carry out telephone interviews. Finally in puppy chain you work with all different teams in controlling orders and ordering.

You are given responsibility when managing a shift alone as well as caring out numerous projects throughout the year,

The support and guidance is huge. Not only do you get support from the teams and everyone around you, the training consultant meets with you monthly to discuss development.

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I would thoroughly recommend Lidl as a placement, not only do you get to see a deeper insight into one of the biggest retailers in the UK, you also get to grow and develop your own skills which are highly transferable academically, professionally and personally.
