Given a fair amount of responsibility. My work directly contributed to future decision making as well as ensuring that current issues/problems would not occur in the future.

Huge amount of support on offer whenever requested from all areas. Examples include: line manager, graduate buddy, recruiter, wider team, people in other teams etc.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Culture felt very inclusive and did not feel as if I was an inconvenience at any point. Although the internship was virtual, there were still efforts made to have social events (eg cocktail evening).

What advice would you give to others applying to HSBC

It's really important to be yourself.
Be as proactive as you can as there will always be someone who would like some help.
Recognise that there is a huge focus on career development at HSBC so it is important that you have a continuous hunger to learn both now and when you are in the role in 5+ years time.
