Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Workshop based apprenticeship with one day a week out for theory. When learning a process for the first time we have the state of the art augmented reality welding suite. We then transfer those skills into the real thing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

This apprenticeship has been eye opening for me as a 37 year old man making a career change and I have not enjoyed work this much in years. It is an amazing experience

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I truly believe I learn something new each day that helps me to develop my welding skills that little further

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Extremely well put together. Throughout the whole process I have be kept up to date with any changes and always know what I am meant to be doing and whether I am achieving my targets.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

When ever I need support my managers are always available to talk to face to face or via other means of communication. No matter what the issue they are always on had to provide the support needed or direct you in the right direction.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

Again i couldn’t be happier with the levels of support. All staff are very knowledgeable and always on hand to help you out. And make learning fun at the same time
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Well as I had never welded before and I am now a fairly confident welder I feel it has helped a great deal
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

With the vast amount of apprentices taken on social outings tend to be arrange by the apprentices. However at the end of your first year you go away for 3 days all together
