Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
I handle cases and work full time as a Paralegal. I work in a busy team specialising in clinical negligence and get involved with all varying cases and levels of complexity. I work on lower value cases primarily but also have experience with £xxx, xxx cases and multi million pound cases. I interact with clients and assist with training new starters.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme and whilst it has been long, I am lucky to have worked in a fantastic team. I enjoy the work that I do and find it interesting. This has been consistent throughout and I have been given more responsibility over time to reflect my growing expertise and qualifications.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt so many new skills and developed all existing skills. I work well in a team and have improved on this further, I have developed my time management and organisational skills too.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
My programme is very well structured and I am well supported by my team.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. Any issues I have had have always been dealt with. I can count on my manager to look into any issues that arise with my apprenticeship.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I receive a fair amount of support from CILEx. My tutor is good and supporting me and is very approachable. I have not however always found the feedback from CILEx very clear and the approaches vary a lot from one learning tutor to the next - I have noticed this having now sat 10 exams. There are a lot of delays with marking work too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
It helps me by ensuring that I get exposure to all areas of work and this has never been an issue. I learn skills that help me to progress in work and in my apprenticeship too.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I am part of a sports team and a volunteer group for a disability sports group too. There are lots of chances to get involved with things.
