Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My role consisted of mostly preparing EGAs in the planning or interim phase of the audit. This involved selecting samples for testing and completing test of controls. There were also daily meetings with the team and the clients.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I enjoyed the programme a lot. My teams were really friendly and understood that I was a new joiner, so they didn't overwhelm me with complicated tasks. The company culture is really involving which is great, I liked how there are constantly social events going on.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
While training, I learned about many technical and PwC terms that I came across and used in my day to day work. This was my first time in a professional setting, so I learned how to adapt to that.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is well structured, it's easy to understand the order of everything such as team hierarchy or task delegation from talentlink. Induction and training were well organised as timetables were sent out weeks in advance. Support meetings were monthly and I could contact my career coach whenever.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I received good support from most people that I required it from. For example if my talentlink was blank, I contacted HR who quickly responded and helped out. The managers on my jobs always coached me on how to go through tasks if I hadn't done it before
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
I get some support from the university regarding exams by having meetings with my tutor. I also got a lot of tips from my career coach as he did the same programme a few years ago
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
What I learned during training and at university was relevant to my role and I put what I learned into practice.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are many social events always going on at work and even as a new joiner, they always want you to get involved. Before the new restrictions, there was supposed to be a christmas party, dodgeball competition and a final lunch with the team.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The company culture is great here and you get to meet so many new, friendly people who are always willing to help.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
The application process is not easy, but something to keep in mind is to practice interview questions and be up to date with current affairs. For assessment days, remember to be a team player and not to be afraid to speak during the assessment.
