Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role was to help out the teams I was assigned to in whatever way I could, either by helping directly complete work based on the audit, joining meetings with the clients, or by making sure we had all the necessary documentation for the audit to be successful.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

Overall I would say that I thoroughly enjoyed my placement and am looking forward to going back next year for my 2nd placement. There were times where, even after asking my team, there was little to no work to be done and these moments could be quite boring,
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I learnt how to use the different systems and software that PwC uses during the audit process, enabling me to be of greater use to my team. I also grew more confident in my communication skills and paying greater attention to detail during meetings with clients.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Generally it is organised quite well and clearly structured, but over the Summer we received numerous emails with numerous documents we needed to fill out and information that we would need to know and it seemed quite flustered, and made it quite confusing.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Quite a lot, the teams that I worked with were welcoming and always happy to answer questions I had, no matter how basic they were. The managers and senior associates were very helpful and would make sure that I understood the answer to my questions before moving on.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The university held 1 meeting with us halfway through our placement, to make sure that we were getting on alright, but also sent emails with useful info that could help us on our placement
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It definitely helps as without the training for the qualification, there would have been several things which I had never seen before or things that I simply didn't understand. Some of the work I did however was quite basic and didn't require me to use my training.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes, a lot of social activities (obviously dependent on covid restrictions) were taking place and these were all great nights and helped me to get to know people from my team better, and also people from other teams on social nights with people from around the office on different clients

Why?
The work is challenging but rewarding and the work atmosphere is very positive. People are willing to help and support you and the opportunities that working for PwC provides are a great way to start your career.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Don't worry about asking questions even if you think that they're basic or easy, be willing to take on challenging work and be willing to help your team and others when asked.
