Overview of the Experience

Please give an overview of what your work experience involved:
5/5
It involved a wide variety of sessions such as presentations and interactive tasks. The presentations were presented by a variety of different employees in different areas of law. The interactive tasks were a great way to get involved and voice opinions across in different mock scenarios and then present your findings. There was multiple options throughout to ask any questions and were always provided with a informative response.
To what extent did you enjoy your work experience?
5/5
I highly enjoyed my work experience, I feel it was extremely helpful, gave me the guidance I needed and was really motivating as all the staff were highly approachable and helpful. It has reinforced my excitement to go and start studying law at university and has helped answer all the questions I had to go forward.
How well organised was your work experience?
5/5
My work experience was very well organised all the timings were strongly stuck to. All of the tasks were ready to go with no issues and were put together very well, all of the staff were organised and provided a well put together informative presentation . I knew where I had to be and when due to the regularly updated schedule and there was no confusion throughout the week.
How much did your work experience help you in deciding on your future career path?
1/5
My work experience has reinforced my desire to study law. It has given me a deeper insight into what life would be like after studies and given me a few helpful routes that others have taken. It has also given me insight into a more specific type of law I would like to study.
Were you paid or reimbursed for this experience?
1/5
No, the work experience was entirely optional and I applied through their application process. It was recommended to me a couple of times therefore I did research into it and found the overview of the course very interesting and my own interest sparked my reason for applying to this position.

Skills Development

What training and skills development did you learn from your work experience?
5/5
My problem solving skills were highly improved in tasks such as finding problems within a lease report, and reading contracts to see if I would sign and what I would change. I have learnt many things during my time including how to get into law in multiple different ways and have learnt about different areas and what they entail.

Company Culture

How much did you learn about the company culture and what it would be like to work there?
5/5
Throughout the week I learnt a lot about the business and their company culture. The company has clear goals and are very successful. All staff said the interview felt more like a conversation as everyone is friendly. Pinsent Masons would be a fantastic place to work at as their values are strong and they value employees.
Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees?
5/5
There was loads of opportunities to meet other employees, despite it being virtual the Pinsent Masons team ensured there was a load of interactive tasks to that everyone got involved with. There was meetings with supervisors in which you could talk, meet each other and ask questions. Following this there was also networking lunches in which employees could chat and get to know each other through lunch hour.

Recommendations and Advice

Would you recommend Pinsent Masons LLP to a friend?
Yes
Why?
This is the perfect opportunity not only if you are certain you want to do law and get more experience, but also if you have no idea what you want to do and are just trying new things. The programme was set out very well where weather you knew law was for you or not it was useful and insightful for everyone.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Pinsent Masons LLP?
In your application just be you, write about your interests. Within the programme I would say get involved as much as possible, ask questions as the team had great answers that were helpful for most questions, take notes as valuable and interesting information was always given that can help with future plans and future applications.
