Overview of Experience
Please give an overview of the insight and what was involved on a day-to-day basis.
The day really gave us an insight into life as lawyer within the big city, numerous people within the company took their time to explain and educate many of us of the different tasks expected of a lawyer which was truly interesting. Each and every person was very patient and allowed us to ask an array of questions, to further our knowledge which was incredibly useful.
What was it like understanding all about the business and potential roles available?
It was very interesting to understand the numerous roles available within a law firm, some roles which I had never heard off. From the experience I got to understand the range and variety of cases taken up by such a law firm, varying from minor to serious issues.

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
Whilst being on the Course I learnt about the numerous jobs that are offered within a law firm, aside from positions that are law based. Furthermore I really understood the expectations that one is supposed to achieve whilst working within the city’s law firm.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?
From the three days, I think it is fair to conclude that DLA piper seemed like a very diverse company which caters for people from all backgrounds and takes pride in having a diverse workplace.

To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
I really enjoyed the day and thought it was a great experience to further understand life as a lawyer. I believe the insight programme covered all major aspects of law and allowed for people to ask further questions something which I think is excellent.

I would tell someone to make sure there CV is short and concise and really shows off there abilities. Remain confident in your abilities and you will succeed! Remember the sky is your limit
