Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
It depended on the project I was on, but I mostly worked in a coordination role (managing trackers and logistics for different training sessions) as well as assisted with project management of new programmes
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I was lucky to be allocated to an internal team involved in a huge variety of areas and work throughout the firm. This means my role changed and developed during the year, allowing me to get involved in projects that were of interest to me as well as work with colleagues from all grades and teams at PwC. This also kept my work fascinating and I could solve different problems each day, without it being repetitive

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt analytical and stakeholder management skills. I have also improved my communication, professionalism and data analytics skills throughout my time at PwC

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The student recruitment team was very kind and helpful, and although I did face quite a few issues with the remote working model, considering everything that was happening I was provided great support throughout the year (I had a personal buddy, career coach and a network of business placements to chat with and share my experience).
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The team I was in was very supportive and open when it came to issues, therefore I felt supported and valued
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My university was great at keeping monthly communications with me as well as providing guidance around my work when needed
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I study a non-related subject so the skills I used were mainly transferable and not specific to my degree (professionalism, communications etc)
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
The teams are very social, from weekly wellbeing activities to team socials this was by far the most social firm I have worked at, actively highlighting the importance of networking and enjoying your time at work

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a company where you are encouraged to build your own network and career - it is supportive and open to career changes and personal development
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Make sure you want to work in a social, hard-working, always striving to improve type of environment. It can be a lot but also great for learning & growing your skillset and expertise at speed
