Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
i am a business analyst in the credit reference agency team who analyses the banks data submissions to the CRA's, any exceptions they report back on and make any necessary amendments to prevent detrimental impact to a customers financial lending abilities in line with industry policy and procedures. I validate large volumes of data and liaise with multiple stakeholders
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
i have really enjoyed my time on the course. Meeting people of all ages from different companies has pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped to make the course a success. i have enjoyed learning new skills and experiencing student life as an older student. the course has been challenging yet rewarding at the same time

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
i have learnt lots of new skills; stakeholder management, data analysis using different technological tools available. Performing under pressure, time management, presentations. Speaking in public, refinement of existing core behaviors. i have learnt how to work in a team and communicate effectively within the workplace and especially for a large organisation

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
the programme is very organised from making sure i know what is required of me, when and the resources available to me. I have been able to raise any queries in and have received an update from the appropriate person to provide the most accurate answer. it has been structured well from start especially when remote learning was implemented
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
i do receive support from my employer in terms of my work however this has not always been the case throughout my full time on the course. I have moved departments or been in business areas that have not always been aware of my education or the needs for time to be allocated for me to reach my full potential in my studies
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
i have received lots of support in terms of my health and my education. During my second year i was hospitalised and the university was really key to me staying on with my studies. they have been very supportive and provided guidance where needed. i do not think this experience would have been what it was without the university's support
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
at first the course was very generic which was good for an overview but didnt really link to my role however now it is very relevant as i am managing data of a high volume on a daily basis. the skills i have learnt have helped me to progress in my role at work
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
there are many training sessions that can be actioned through work but most of these are based on potential roles that i could apply for in the bank. The social events have been put on hold due to the pandemic but prior to that there were plenty to be involved in

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Barclays to a friend?
Yes
Why?
There are plenty of roles that you have persue in Barclays and although sometimes the work load can be pressured the rewards they offer as a company are better than most. I was a previous employee before starting this course and feel that they invest in all employees both existing and new
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Barclays?
have a look at the roles that are available and the location of where those are. if you are willing to travel there are interesting opportunities in fraud and technology. be realistic about what you want from a role and research into whether the role fits your talents and wants from a job
