Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Everyday is different but it involves bringing broadband and phone lines to lots of different customers. Also using skills to find out where there are problems and work out how to solve them
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I find the programme really enjoyable as every day is different you never know what is going to come at you so it always finds ways of keeping you on your toes.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learned lots of new skills since joining Openreach learning how to run cables to the correct standards and also how to detect faults and locate them a fix the problems so they don’t happen again.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

We had a clear 9 week plan in the training school and I have now had another month out in the field working with a buddy all of this training has made me feel confident in doing the role effectively.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Everyone I have met on the team has been really helpful and are always willing to help. Nobody wants to see you struggle so everyone help out one another

All of my trainers have been very helpful and always concerned for mine and everyone else’s safety.

There is a lot of support from everyone around so it really helps in building confidence to do the role
