Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Worked on one project focusing my time on design coordination tasks such as creating and reviewing documents, attending meetings and communicating regularly. I also would extensively on-site using survey equipment and supervising works.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes, I was frequently given responsibility within the project either in specific tasks or in a general sense, leading meetings and coordinating works.

I have learnt a huge number of new skills that are specific to the industry as well as transferable. During the role, I also significantly developed existing skills such as communication and teamwork.

I had a lot of support and guidance during my placement from the team I worked in as well as from the company.

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

It was generally good, however did not experience much due to covid and therefore working from home for a majority of the placement

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I mostly enjoyed my placement, at times it was extremely fun doing specific tasks and being in a leading role. sometimes during busy periods and when doing repetitive work it was not as enjoyable.
