Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

I worked within Reinsurance, helping the Business Development team who deal with requests for proposals (RFPs). I had to prepare slides which included the team's capabilities and their credentials.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

As I became more knowledge of the role, I was given various tasks which were checked by other members in my team. Towards the end of my experience, I was able to tackle tasks alone.

I learnt about the different reinsurance structures and had tasks which worked on Excel to build some of the graphs.

I was provided with a lot of support and guidance throughout my internship. I was able to schedule time with members in my team to go through concepts and topics I was unsure about.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

Great company, I was taken out for coffees and team drinks! I was able to reach out to people outside my team and they were happy to give me insights into their role.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

Considering I did not know much about reinsurance, this internship taught me a vast amount about the industry. The inclusive nature and the projects I was part of made this an enjoyable experience.
