Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My Role involves commercially managing construction projects, including contractual and payment activities
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoyed the programme as i was able to gain first hand experience through work but also attend university once a week to gain my degree

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have developed lots of new skills relating to procurement, contract management, assessment of payments

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
The programme is organised fairly well, however there is a lack of transparency as to the progression. There have also been changes since i first enrolled extending the length of the programme by 9 months. The expectations have also changed as initially we were told we would roll off the apprenticeship into a permanent position and then would complete our chartership accreditation. However now we are being told we are expected to complete this before rolling off of the programme.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
2/5
I have received lots of support from my line managers over the years, however changes within the organisational structure of the apprenticeship have felt that the support started to reduce
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
1/5
The support from university in general is ok, however we were meant to receive regular meetings with an apprentice co-ordinator from the university, which didn't happen. There should have been 3 meetings a year for 3 years. However I have only had 2 reviews in total and when the co-ordinator changed it was not communicated well
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
2/5
I think the qualification helps my role in some ways as certain modules do apply. However as the course is based on general construction and my role is for infrastructure construction there is often learning at university that doesn't directly link to my work
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
Before the pandemic there were lots of activities within the various teams i worked in that you could get involved in
