Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
As a cabler, my job at the moment is all about make sure that the ducts in the joint boxes are not damaged in order to put the fibre cable through, so by preparing for the fibre cable to be put through, we put draw rope between each joint box.
I also ' walk the route' which just means when we are given our plans, we joint down any joint boxes which aren't on the map, and we also try and see if there's any issue we might come across and try and figure out how we can overcome the issue.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I'm really enjoying the programme, the team that I've around me are so helpful, also ready to help one and another, the manager is helpful, if there's any issue in my personal life, he's very understandable. I can see myself develop in this career/company as this is something I'm really enjoying

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've learned new skills, such as being able to drive a much bigger vehicle than my car. I've have developed my computer skills such as, being comfortable using excel, filling out documents more efficiently. New skills I've learnt is how to set up street works using the right safety measures when working on the pavement and how to protect myself, my colleagues and the general public.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The training is organised well, if there's any issue with my lack of understanding, there's always someone available to give me help, and the studying schedule is set up really well, gives me enough time to gather info and make sure I'm meeting my expectations.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
The team that I've around me are so helpful, also ready to help one and another, the manager is helpful, if there's any issue in my personal life, he's very understandable. Same goes for my mentor, she's always more than happy to explain things and making sure I understand what I'm doing.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
My mentor, she's always more than happy to explain things and making sure I understand what I'm doing. And my manager is always asking me how I'm progressing with my work and if there's any additional help I need from him and the guys I work with are always more than happy to help
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
Yes, the programme have helped me in confidence and I feel a little more confidence in my job, and gaining more knowledge of what's expected in my role. I know once I've finished, I'll be more confident and gain the knowledge I need in order to progress.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
As far I know, there are not any after work activities with work, which is a shame because, you work together as a group and the only time we spend time together is at work, I do think if there were some sort of activities once a while with the team, I think the team cohesion would be great.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend BT Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend this job because it's a career and you can progress in this industry if that's something you wanted to do and the company will help you gain the knowledge and give you all the tools you need. And also it's very enjoyable, no day is ever the same and you can really challenge yourself at this company.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
For my experience, the process was really quick and efficient, they waiting in between the confirmation flew by, if there were documents you had forgotten to send off, they would communicate with you and it was a really good process. The interview itself was more like a friendly chat, really made you feel at ease, and they gave you the training you needed once you got your confirmation.
