Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My day-to-day role currently within my team is very operational. As a result, I get multiple order packs that I can approve/deny. As well as this, I attend several meetings within Customer Services and Logistics but also cross functionally. Other jobs include coding failures and answering supply issue queries.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoy my programme because my university course often always has an assignment that relates back to the business, so it means I can reach out and chat with other departments to gain an understanding to support my assignment. Also, my team provide lots of support/advice to help myself.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
Having only been at MDLZ since September, I would say I have developed a wide variety of skills in a short space of time. For example, I have enhanced my communication and presentation skills as in role we have real responsibility and it is encouraged that we network.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is new to MDLZ this year, however I think the structure has been really well executed. For the 3 years I am on the scheme, I will have 3 different roles in 3 different functions so I will be able to gain a wide, valuable experience.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
Lots! On my scheme, I have a buddy and mentor who I have regular 1-2-1s with. My manager and department manager we have 1-2-1s bi weekly. And within early careers at MDLZ, we have our own network so I have constant support of other apprentices on different schemes.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Aston are really supportive in building my portfolio of work examples. I have monthly meeting with a skills coach every month where we discuss my off the job training and reflect on the activities I have done throughout the month and how that could be beneficial in the future.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel that my course at university helps to gain an understanding of the wider business. For example, my finance module was helpful in building my maths confidence but also made myself explore how finance at MDLZ works for the wider business in terms of profit and loss statements.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
There are lots of opportunities - however some have been limited due to COVID-19. Most though have continued virtually in some capacity e.g book swap club or virtual yoga classes. Or there are some professional networking events like coffee mornings with colleagues across the UK business to raise your profile.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Mondelez to a friend?
Yes
Why?
The company have been amazing! I have never felt so welcomed into a business - especially virtually. They offer lots of support to all staff but I have found apprentices to be really looked after and they want you to thrive professionally so will offer lots of opportunity to do so.
