Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
In my role I am responsible for looking after our customers who are in financial difficulty with their business. I look to work with the business signatories to come to solutions to repay their debts. I do this for limited companies, some traders and partnerships and charities. I conduct income and expenditure reviews to gain a holistic view of their current circumstances
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoyed the programme as it allowed me to explore all aspects of dealing with everyday management of different minded individuals. I loved the variety of the various areas covered on the programme such as project management, budget management, line management and being at your best at all times. I also enjoyed the team work aspect of the programme

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I learnt a lot of new skills on the programme such as leading a team as a new manager, how to conduct meaningful 1:1s and how to tackle difficult situations. I have also learnt how to manage a project and what tools to use to best aid my progress.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme was separated into different modules which gave me a very clear structure as to what I will be covering on each given topic. It was very methodical and followed a structured flow, allowing me to plan and prepare the assessments in good time and gain evidence to back up my responses
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
My employer provided me with a lot of support when completing my programme. I allocated myself time each week to compile my evidence of working and then used this time to write up my assignments and prepare for my oral assignments. I was constantly offered support when asking for more work so I could produce enough evidence for my portfolio
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
The support from the first trainer I had was not the best. I found I waited quite a long time for responses to my queries and was not guided in the correct direction. However the second mentor I had on the programme was very organised and soon got my portfolio in order to be submitted
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It has definitely added value to my role but a lot of the stuff I learnt was not new to me so felt useless to learn again. I certainly valued the line management training as this was relevant to my role at the time and so was the project management
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes there are various diversity and inclusion groups which I regularly engage with to maintain an awareness. I also get involved in a lot of the charity work that we carry out such as virtual breakfasts where we raise money for dedicated charities each time. I also previously took part in raising money for the guide dogs and facilitated the training for this

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend HSBC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Hsbc are so inclusive and really understand each and every one of their employees. They have a real respect and understanding that each of our lives are different and are flexible to meet our needs. You can be completely open and honest and you will be listened to. They have a great employee package including pension and benefits
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HSBC?
Be yourself. Do not try and pretend to be someone you are not because it is so easy to see if you do this. Be open and honest and transparent and maintain composure. Confidence is also very important. Do not under estimate how good you actually are at what you do
