Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

As a Ce Cabler i am usually working on rod and rope job packs and also building the spine network and also surveying job packs and planning routes for the cables just to make sure that everything is possible to do and to go as smoothly as possible with no problems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

i enjoy the programme a lot it seems very good and also seems to provide a lot of on the job information i feel like i learn most when im out in the field doing the job packs that are supplied to me and dealing with the problems we find on the way
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes i have learned many new skills especially when it comes to problem solving i have learnt how to detect problems in the fibre network and how to deal with blockages inside of the ducts and which ways to get through the blockages and also what type of cable needs to go where
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

sometimes it can be a little bit unorganised but generally its good the job packs once they are given out so quite straight forward and proving the route is very helpful, the workshops seem to be very well structured with a lot of time to learn about the course i am on
How much support do you receive from your employer?

the employer seems very supportive especially with certain needs and information they always are quite easy to contact especially the patch leads you can normally just phone them and receive the information that you are needing, i very much appreciate that you can always contact your local leads to get the information
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

i feel like i receive quite a lot of support from the workshops for when i am working towards my qualifications i feel like it has a good course of progression what it is very good and makes me feel confident that i will achieve the qualifications i need for the job
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

i feel like the qualification is a very good general qualification in the Telecoms work area i feel like especially during the start of my training i was given pretty much all the information on safety and also what tasks i need to learn and do on the job what is good.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Not that i have been told of as such but this may be due to covid 19 i know in the past they have events that people go to and i believe they might be doing this in an online format right now but i am not aware of any.

Why?
seems like a very good company that you can learn and progress in the pay is quite good and the information and qualifications you can receive can be very good for your job skills and i can see that a lot of people will have a good future with openreach
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
Take your time learn everything that you need to know about the role especially before you apply do some research on everyday tasks that you do in the job if you can speak to an openreach engineer if you see any it is always best to gain first hand advice
