Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Fibre Engineer has many challenges and tasks. I install, build and maintain the fibre infrastructure in the local area whether that's a residential or business.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I felt the apprenticeship was well structured and ran nicely against the on the job tasks to get the experience and material to complete the course. So it was nice bringing back my own material to the units I completed.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have mainly leant NEW skills and I feel excited about every day as I do tend to learn something new every day. I do feel ready to learn other areas of the business.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
I cant complain really. Every session was well organised and I was prepared for every session. The support was really good and I followed all the material when given. I felt I had enough time to complete my work.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
Again really good. If I needed to get some experience on a certain type of work that was being asked of me. I often spoke with my patch lead or manager to get assigned that type of work. So the support was great
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
How every much support I needed I got. If every I had a question it was responded too straight away or she guided me in the right direction. I found the qualification easy but I think that is because of the tutors and setup.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
It was nice to take the the on the job work and experience back to the classroom and think about it and write/review it. This is vice visa to the theory and taking it to the actual role.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There is numerous things happening in the Openreach organisation. In my particular team we often play football on various evenings of the week. But its been challenging because of the Covid 19 - as usually the team have meet ups etc.
