Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to provide customers with new fibre optic internet. Day to day I am either climbing poles or going underground and pulling new cables to customers houses and then fitting the internal work for them

I enjoy the freedom, the variety of tasks and the different people you meet on a daily basic

Yes I have learnt a lot about fibre optics and increased my DIY skills

How well organised/structured is your programme?

I feel like the structure is good in the fact of what they teach us but the organisation of it needs re-evaluating. It seems to be rushed and sometimes backwards in the timings that they teach you specific things

A lot! I could not fault the team I have around me and the knowledge and willing to help they have provided me with
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A lot. The trainers really do help you and notice when you are struggling
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

Again a lot! Without the training I have received I honestly would not have a clue what to do

Not that I am aware of yet but due to COVID-19 this could be the reason

Ask lots of questions and don’t be afraid to ask “the stupid question”. We’ve all been there and everyone is willing to help
