Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
My role is going around my area fixing and maintaining faults that may occur within the telecommunication networks that BT has. The day varies which is good as I am doing different faults every day.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I really enjoy the programme that BT have put the apprentices through i feel college could've been a longer duration as it was only 6 block weeks within the first year. However the rest of the learning is done on the job and through training courses that BT provide.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have learnt a bunch of new skills within this industry, ones that I never really new about before joining the company. I have also developed existing skills working with new people and a new work team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Yeah it is well organised, people are always there to help you out and make life easier for you.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A lot of support if needed. there are many people that i could go to for help whether its my buddy that I work with on a day to day basis, my manger or even my NVQ assessor people are always there to offer support if needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
My NVQ assessor is always a phone call or an email away if I am ever stuck on any of the work that he has given me.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
when we attended college for the 6 week blocks they talked us through the basics of networks and how a telecoms network works. this gave us the basic building blocks to understand our role, rather than going in blind.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
yes there are professional networking events that people can get involved with if any of them interest them all they would have to do is apply.
