Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

Analyzing detailed corporate and financial information, creating statistical exhibits that analyze comparative financial performance, building models to illustrate projected financial results and value to companies, developing marketing memoranda and delivering sections of research presentations, and participating in the execution of financings and M&A transactions.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Indeed I was given much responsibility during my internship. I was treated like any other analyst and I was very independent t taking certain decisions.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learnt in these two months more than I have learnt during my five years in University. I know now how to build up models in Excel I had never seen before joining Citi, I have developed my Microsoft Office skills, I have learnt how a pitch, a takeover bid and an acquisition process works, how to prepare all the models, estimates and documents needed. I have also learnt how to manage my time and prioritize tasks.

Support and Guidance

How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?

I was given a lot of support by my two buddies and mentor and in general by all of the Madrid team. I felt I could turn to anyone if I needed help and everyone was very patient and kind with me.
