I was a universal Banker whilst completing the apprenticeship. I would hold meetings in the bank with personal customers. I would offer products and services relevant to their needs.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have completed the programme now. I really enjoyed learning about the bigger picture to which our role fits into. I like to have complete knowledge and understanding to provide a better level of service

I learnt how to complete written statements and essays whilst submitting my coursework. I have also developed on my time managed to complete both my studies and my day job.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

At the beginning my programme was very structured and organised which I liked however towards the end of the programme it became less so. It was difficult to book time in with my talent coach and exams got changed and rearrange leaving it feel very unorganised.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I felt that the programme is supported however the reality of how much work and commitment which is needed throughout the whole programme is underestimated and I would feel a burden in the branch whilst completing training rather than my day job. Also I don't feel it is factored into what they would expect from a figures perspective
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My talent coach was brilliant throughout. She offered support in regalar visits and observations. I could always call her and talk through any issues. I felt at the end of my course there was a big uptake of new learners and that was a priority. I feel my coach had too many new learners all start at once as it was pushed within the branches.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel more confident discussing products and services on the industry level rather than just my company. I think that is reassuring for customer's and you can provide quality service
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There hasn't been the same level of activities due to covid but there are some social cirtual events

Yes
Why?
I feel HSBC have supported me throughout my career starting 6 years ago. They encourage people to upskill if they wish to. I feel it is a good and stable job offering alternative banking solutions and adapting to change and development
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to HSBC?
Do research on the company and their core values. Fully understand the job and reach out for more information if unsure
