Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
The business analyst is the link between the end-user and a project manager. The key responsibilities may differ from company to company, but my main purpose is to analyse, evaluate, and refine processes through research and regular close engagement with various stakeholders accross the bank, such as business, credit, digital etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
It's been really educational and I had great support throughout the programme. I am quite happy with how it went.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
analytical, communication, strategic thinking, inclusion

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
1/5
The structure and the plan on the paper looked quite good and well put together. However in practice the BPP, training provider, did not keep up with the plans well and it has been quite frustrating chasing them for clarity.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
A lot. It's been great for me as I am quite proactive, hence I asked a lot of questions and reached out for support, which was always available to me.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
Just enough. Nothing over and above. I really needed to come out my way to get the most out of their support.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
3/5
It really helped me to reflect on my knowledge and gave me the green light to shadow and observe more experienced and knowledgeable colleagues. However I already hold a BA degree in Business Management, so I did not acquire much of new theory. Good refresher for me.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Absolutely yes! Volunteering allowance for 3 days a year that are paid for. Various Employee Led Networks, that I am part of. Participation helps me to develop myself and enjoy my time here much more.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend NatWest Group to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Very supportive employer that cares about my development providing me with regular opportunities to learn and grow both professionally and as an individual.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
Be proactive! Find your employee led network to be part of and find what you like to do as a job. The bank is really large offering plenty of opportunities to find what one prefers and feels happy with. Very inclusive place to work :)
