Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role involves travelling to different sites and dealing with the installation, commissioning, programming, engineering and servicing of BMS systems.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I have nothing bad to say about the scheme I am on with SE. I really love going to work and learning new parts to my role.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

During my time so far I have learned a lot from both on the job training and from being at university. Programming has been a major part of my job role which I had no experience of previously.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The organisation from my Company is very good. I Know exactly what I am going to be doing and where I will be on site weeks in advance. The training courses are all organised by a dedicated team. The University is less structured and needs to be improved.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

My employer is very supportive of me. They pay for company cars, pay rent, and offer lots of training courses that I can attend that will help me with my role.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The University of Lincoln is poor in terms of support. For every lecture I have attended it seems as if they are can't be bothered to be there and it is impossible to get in touch with anyone of the staff members from the Uni as they never asnwer their emails.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

The qualification that I am doing is quite varied and incorporates a lot of different skills that are useful as an engineer. Because of the variety of modules some can be extremely relevant and some can be totally pointless
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are quite a lot of options for extra curricular activates however due to the current COVID restrictions many of them are not running at the moment.

Would you recommend Schneider Electric to a friend?
Yes
Why?
They are a brilliant company to work for. They really look after and believe in their staff. The are also a morally sound company and are working to make the future better.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Schneider Electric?
Do lots of research about the company, and make sure it is for you before you apply. The work is very specialised and only a few other companies compete with SE. Be prepared to move away from home as it is a requirement to do the for at least a year during your apprenticeship (the company does pay for your flat though). Have a solid engineering background academically as this will be a major factor in whether you will be asked to come for an interview or not.
