alot of my role is surrounded by cold calling and training into how to break into accounts. it is a very sales intensive role and love the constant flow of work and oppotunities that come my way. we also do alot around vendor relations and building our network for the future
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
i really like the program and in comparison to my friends in other similar apprentaships elsewhere it stands alone in support and quality of teaching sales. i dont have one bad word to say about the program and it has hellped me progress into a far better salesman and person

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
the program is very well structured and outlined to us all the way through the time i have been here. we have designated time for our qualification and our traing for more techical sales is booked in on a regular basis . this allows me to also track my progression through the course and see where i am at

i receive endless support from my employer both in and out of work, within work if i have any questions or queries in regards to doing my job well my manager is always there to help me out and guide me through whatever i have to do, outide of work i often have to support my brother and takje him to hospital and softcat have been great in supporting me and doing anything they can to help
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I have recieved alot of support in this area as both teachers are avaiale to help at anytime whether that be sales training or help with my coursework they are often available to help straight away with my queries and questions. They often do regular one to ones to check we are on track aswell
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It has allowed me to look into what i do on a day to day basis and re- adjust sections of my calender to make me work in a more efficient and effective way. the basis of this allowed us to cut out anything unnecessary out of our calendars and focus on what is important

Yes there are plenty of extra- curricular activities at work for instance i play football after work on a wednesday and play golf on the golf days - during ciovid they have arranged alot of eveings virtually to keep us entertained eg. sending us kick off boxes with food and drink to have to celebrate a new quarter

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Softcat to a friend?
Yes
Why?
I would recommend softcat in the highest regard to a friend i believe it has not only grown me as a salesman but as a better person aswell - despite covid i have developed great friendships and a big network of people more than happy to help me. I was stuck between this and university and i defintly made the right choice
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Softcat?
i would advise being yourself - dont worry about your previous exams or schooling what i have found is that softcat hires people for them not for their CV. I would say do some research into the ethics of softcat as it means alot to us and it is pivotal to our fun working environment
