Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I interact with customers answering queries, assist my relationship manager with customer requests and tasks that need to be completed to benefit customers.
I check my emails and our intranet page for any company updates. I interact with my team members daily and weekly to update on what has been going on.

To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my programme. I like the fact I am learning on the job, earning money and learning something new every single day. There is so much training to take a part of, the company are inclusive and really care about wellbeing within the teams and this shows within the happiness of the team.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Pretty much everything I have learnt since starting the role in January has been a new skill. I would say that my skills using Excel, word and outlook etc have expanded massively since starting the role. I am taking regular training and will start assignments for my apprenticeship soon also.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Really well organised, the check ins that I have with my line manager are very regular. We have an apprentice call weekly to check in also and there is always someone on hand to help if you need it. I could not say one bad thing about the organisation levels.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive support whenever I need support, every person I have had an encounter with has gone above and beyond what I would expect them to do. I am always being asked how I am getting on, if I need any help or if there is anything they can do more.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I have had great communication with my training provider and I feel the support will be completely there when I need it. I have different ways of communication too and the hub that we have access too is a great tool for learning and will guide us through our apprenticeship.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I have yet to start the apprenticeship but I can see that the learning I will be doing will contribute to my role. It will help me do the tasks I need to do through my assisgnments and gather the evidence in doing these to prove I have done them.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Absolutely, even with working from home and not actually meeting any of my colleagues face to face. We have social events every Friday via zoom, whether this be a quiz, murder mystery or just a catch up. We also arrange professional networking events and I have been involved in organising one recently.

Why?
I would recommend Natwest to a friend because they are proving to be a great company to work for. Not only great pay but great support and ongoing training, it seems to me as if they always want you to progress yourself and will fully support you in doing so.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
I would say be yourself fully, be confident and believe you are capable of anything you put your mind to. Prepare for the interview, do research on the company values and what they stand for and be prepared to talk about this in your interview. Make sure that you have scenarios prepared that you talk about yourself, not in a team.
