Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to assist my relationship managers and the day to day runnings of the commercial bank. It involves following up with colleagues and customers and making sure all information is up to date. I have to ensure i am showing good customer service at all times.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I extremely enjoy this programme as the banking industry is one of my key interests. I love being busy everyday and knowing i am working hard. I also think that it gives me goals to achieve and that makes me enjoy the programme even more, as i am motivated.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have been able to develop my confidence and communicating skills. I have also been able to learn new skills such as learning how to use new programmes and being able to formally write an email. I have been able to develop my interpersonal skills too.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is very well organised, i know exactly when all my webinars and deadlines are. My work/ apprenticeship life is very fairly balanced and i always know what i am doing. I think the structure of the programme is really well done and ill always have something to do.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have recently been through a bereavement in the family and my employers have been extremely supportive. They have made sure i dont have to much stress from work and am making sure i put my wellbeing first. If i ever have a question, their more than happy to help.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

My training provider has been very organised in regards to making sure i have all my timetables and understand them well. When they held their induction for us, i thought the presentation was very supportive and answered any questions. Their support systems are very accessible too.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

I feel this qualification will help me improve my interpersonal skills and will train me to be a better employee for the business i am working for. It will make me more confident in my workings and day to day skills.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are always webinars that i can take part in at my work such as economic and wellbeing meetings. There is also a good place to work week where we take part in quizes and fun meetings. My workplace has employee- led networks where there are always fun events.

Why?
Since i have joined the natwest group, i have found that all members of staff have been extremely friendly towards me and made me feel very welcome. I enjoy my day to day job and know there is alot of support around me if i ever am struggling.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to NatWest Group?
I would say just be yourself as working at natwest everyone is different and being your own character will give you the ability to grow and learn new things and make new friends.
