Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Carrying out maintenance on board naval ships, taking out pipes, pumps, valves etc.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I've enjoyed the majority of the apprenticeship so far. Just the odd day where it's a bit difficult but a part of the job is to deal with challenges and problems.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I've learnt different methods and techniques for removing equipment as well as good working practices such as keeping a tidy workspace when refitting equipment to prevent foreign bodies contaminating the system.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well structured, there's good communication and I know what's expected of me.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
A good amount of support. If I need to do some NVQ work, I just ask and so long as there isn't much work on or if its a bit quiet, they seem happy for me to continue with it.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive as much support as I need, if I need help regarding NVQ I can ask my ADM and they can guide me in the right direction. If I need any help with my work my fitters are on hand to help.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I feel the qualification gives me a better understanding of different systems and methods of work, allowing me to carry it out in a safe and appropriate manner.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
I'm aware there is golf days and a gym I can get involved in but I don't really know how I go about signing up for it
