To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme very much. Since it is a Trainee role, I have been able to learn a lot of new skills and gain on the job experience as well as learning within the classroom. I enjoy completing the NVQ, so that I achieve a qualification at the end of the programme.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
Yes I have learnt many skills such as communication skills, team working, and hands on cabling skills. I enjoy working in a team of 6 people, I enjoy working outdoors and meeting new people everyday.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
The programme is very well organised and structured, at the beginning of the apprenticeship I spend four weeks in the classroom understanding the basics of my role as a cabler. I then spent time out in the field with experienced engineers gaining the experience and skills required to become competent in my role as a Cabler.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my employer. I am able to go on training courses to further enhance my skills and knowledge within telecommunications. Soon I will be able to gain new skills in splicing and jointing so that I can become a multi skilled engineer in the future.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
I receive a lot of support from my training provider when working towards my NVQ qualification. I regularly communicate with my NVQ assessor. If I have any issues or problems with any units, my assessor is very helpful and would guide me in the right direction to complete the NVQ successfully.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
5/5
I believe that the NVQ qualification through my training provider helps me very much to perform better in my role. Since, a lot of modules are to do with gaining evidence out in the field and completing units such as Health and Safety. This is very beneficial to me since safety is a massive part of my job.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
5/5
Yes there are many extra-curricular activities to get involved in at work, such as social activities, sports teams and even professional networking events. I am very much into trading shares, and communicate in a group of employees about any future trades or shares that could be beneficial to me. This is excellent.

Recommendations & Advice

Yes
Why?
Yes I would definitely recommended BT to a friend, since BT are an excellent company to work for. The training they provide in training schools is second to none and the experience you gain out in the field with experienced engineers is fantastic. BT has excellent benefits such as pension and share schemes which interests me.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to BT Group?
I would say go for it. As I mentioned above BT are a fantastic employer to work for. I was ware about leaving my position in my last job, since I was working for them for six years, however, I have been working for BT for seven months now and I can honestly say its the best decision I have ever made.
