Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Intern/trainee working with teams on client engagements carrying out the audit of a companies financials statements. Day to day work involves testing and handling different financial statement line items including balance sheet, profit and loss statement and the statement of changes in equity. A conclusion and audit opinion is then issued on the companies overall performance.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The programme although extremely stressful and intense at times during busy season, is definitely enjoyable and the teams/people you work with make the whole experience better as a whole. Everyone is supportive, helpful and understanding which makes me feel comfortable and confident in being to ask questions/for help.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Definitely learnt new skills with having to adapt to working from home this year and facing the challenges of virtual working meant that communication skills were key in with both team members and client contacts. I am also glad to have built on my existing audit knowledge which i developed through my previous placement.

How well organised/structured is your programme?

Very well organised and the support from out flying start degree programme leaders is extremely good. Whenever I have any issues, they are only ever a email or message away and try their best to resolve the query as best and quickly as they can which is always greatly appreciated.
