Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I enjoy the programme to a great extent. The combination of work and study means you are able to apply the theory learned at university and see how it transfers into the audit work.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
I have learnt and developed existing skills. With regards to learning new skills, I have gained both new technological skills (e.g. different softwares) and skills and knowledge relating to audit. The experience has also enabled me to put my theory learned at university into practice.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is incredibly well organised and structured. From the beginning there is a clear roadmap for how the programme is structured. We also have yearly updates to any changes that will take place in the year.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
There is great support from the employer. They take a holistic view towards support, with a great focus on both work and wellbeing. This was clear with the wellbeing bingo which was encouraged weekly in the business unit.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Significant support is provided from the training provider with resources made available when working towards your qualification.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
The qualification provides the foundation and knowledge needed to perform the role. Having a great knowledge of both financial accounting and audit is imperative to a good performance.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
3/5
There were many committees to get involved in.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a very friendly, inclusive and supportive environment. In my business unit in particular there was a strong focus on wellbeing and diversity and inclusion. There are also many opportunities to learn and further my knowledge in the audit profession.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Make sure to do research both about PwC and the audit profession.
