Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

A varied number of different audit related tasks, meetings with the team, meetings with the different clients you work for, times for breaks/office energisers, meetings with the whole office, to ensure that your respective area of the audit file is completed and updated in a timely manner to stick to the workplan
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

The work is difficult but rewarding on completion, the people at the firm definitely help to make the job more enjoyable. The company culture is relaxed whilst still focused on the job at hand allowing good room for progression. It met my expectations and it will only get more enjoyable the more integrated I become

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have learnt quite a few new skills this placement in addition to the skills and knowledge I learnt last placement. I took control of new areas of the file I had not worked on previously which helped expand my knowledge whilst also receiving appropriate coaching where I needed it
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

Its organised by both Pwc and my training organiser of reading university, and they both help to make the course very well organised. Theres a lot of support available from multiple different places that is always accessible. Good training that helps to get us ready before starting every year which is good
How much support do you receive from your employer?

We each have a buddy, career coach and multiple different wellbeing contacts that are always available for the smallest of problems. there is never a moment where you feel that there isn't somebody to speak to. your peers are also a very tight group where anything can be talked about
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

A lot of support from both our university tutors and wellbeing members, along with all the support available from ICAEW. Always accessible anytime of year whenever we need it, and always make time for us. Good attitude towards teaching and supporting us, good help for exam preparation also which is good
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

We learn the content at university which then helps us to apply our knowledge learnt into a real life scenario. Without this background training i believe completing the job given would have been a lot more challenging. the combination of university knowledge as well as training is the perfect mix
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Unlimited amounts of different extracurricular activities at university, no matter what different areas you are interested in. At the company there are also many different events and social activities to get involved in from yoga, to more casual energisers such as online games etc. all help to make the job more enjoyable

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?

Why?
Great company with multiple different opportunities for development. Very good support structure and people working there help to make it very enjoyable, even during a job that can seem daunting and challenging. I would not recommend PwC as a company more. I've only got good things to say about them
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Definitely try and get a good base of business knowledge as well as good awareness of current news stories that are relevant to the sectors/business. The interviews and assessment days can be tough but they are definitely worth it and very rewarding to get through. Just be confident and good person
