Over the course of my placement I was part of 3 audit teams. I was mainly involved in the detailed testing.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
It is stressful at times and the hours can be quite long when on placement, however I am glad I am on the programme. I have met some great people.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes, I have improved my technical skills and now understand/ can test more areas of the audit file.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
3/5
I'd say the programme is very organised and well ran.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
We have a good support network and can talk to our People Managers, Buddies, Champions and other students on the programme.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
Our lecturers are great at the university. They also remind us that we can still speak to them regarding any queries/ issues we may have even when on placement and not technically at university.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
University gave me a good insight into what auditing actually is and the accounting knowledge/ fundamentals which are essential for auditing.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes there is, although I haven't engaged with any during my last 3 month placement as it has been busy season and so we have all had a lot of work.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
It is a successful firm and there are opportunities to move to different business units/ areas further down the line.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Be prepared to work long hours during busy but speak up if the workload gets too much. For the first placement, there may be times where you feel like you don't know anything/ confused but don't be afraid to ask questions and keep asking until you understand what it is you have been asked to do.
