Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
Working with clients of PwC to verify the accuracy of the numbers published in their financial statements.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
The programme has been a fantastic experience for me even if placement can be hard work at times, however we have the support of both people at PwC and university throughout.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
5/5
I have become much more personable due to the frequency of meeting new people who are often different to me. I have also learnt what makes an efficient team.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
The programme is very structured as you can know your modules years in advance and what to expect. You are also familiar with the lecturers as there is continuity between years and they often take on other roles on the course.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
The support from PwC is second to none. Your teams will be checking in on you continually as you work side by side, but there is also a network of other people available if needed.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
5/5
Our professional exams are all organised for us in advance with all of the relevant learning materials provided to us for free. We simply have to learn the material and sit the exam, university will sort everything else.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
I would really struggle to perform the role without what I have learnt at university and sympathise with people who do not come from an accounting background trying to learn on the job!
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
There are different socials every week organised by different people as well as the chance to listen to external guests. More informally there are sports teams and other activities to get involved with.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
PwC provides a fantastic opportunity to consolidate your knowledge and the intensity of the work means you learn a lot quicker than you would otherwise with fantastic opportunities for progression within the firm.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Be prepared to work with a variety of different people, most of whom will be surprisingly young but perfectly knowledgeable! You'll have to work hard during busy season (Jan-Mar) but you are treated fantastically.
