Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
My daily tasks involved having a meeting every morning with the members of my team where we discussed the current status of the work we had performed and what we plan to do in the day itself. After the call I would begin looking at what was in my workflow and begin doing tasks such as summarising and preparing documents, choosing samples and calling the client
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
5/5
I very highly enjoy my programme, It is the perfect opportunity to see what the world of accounting is like before fully diving in. The teams are always so welcoming and ensure that you have something to do and that you understand what it is you are doing. It has surpassed my expectations

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
One skill which i have developed greatly since starting is in my technical capabilities using excel. As we use it daily it became much easier to use by the end of the placement and i had learnt many new shortcuts. It also helped me to improve on my team building skills and confidence by talking in meetings and being coached by both my peers and career coach

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
5/5
Very well organised, I was assigned 2 buddies before i started who were people who had been in the same situation as i was in and had helped me a lot with advice and support. I also had a career coach who advis
ed me through the more technical parts of the job as well as my managers and peers
How much support do you receive from your employer?
5/5
A very high level of support, there is always a wide range of people to reach out to, for either personal or career reasons. The statement "no question is a silly question" is heavily followed and managers/peers encourage you to reach out if you are ver unsure or confused
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
4/5
The tutors are all very supportive and informative, with the new way of online teaching coming into effect they all have managed to keep the training at a high level with them ensuring we are staying focused and asking us to reach out to them if we are seeking omre help
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
They give me a basic level of understanding which help me do the day to day tasks such as categorizing the financial line items or being able to follow the movement of the company with knowledge. It also made me more aware of any potential risks and helped develop my professional scepticism
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
4/5
Yes! Even with covid still existing many teams that i worked with would still host weekly socials ranging from just having a coffee and chatting to do things such as online escape rooms. I am aware that in times when we arent fighting covid many social activities are available to those who wish

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?
Yes
Why?
From my experience, it is a place of work full of people who want you to learn and grow in the workplace and will guide you along the journey. The business ethic and morals all speak to me as i feel like my work is achieving something and helping those around me
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Do not be afraid to ask any question, "no question is a stupid question". Your managers and peers want to help you learn, and the best way to expand your knowledge is by asking questions and gaining the experience. Also to take pride in the work that you do complete
