Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
4/5
The main duty of an auditor that i did day to day is to determine whether financial statements follow generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) requires all public companies to conduct regular reviews by external auditors, in compliance with official auditing procedures. That an auditor has the responsibility for the prevention, detection and reporting of fraud, other illegal acts and errors is one of the most controversial issues in auditing,
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
I enjoyed my placement a lot particularly when my coaches were helpful and encouraging. however when the coaches were not helpful it was very frustrating as i felt like i was useless and felt like i was left with nothing to do. It makes such a difference when the coaches are nice and helpful as you learn a lot

Meticulous attention to detail.
A strong aptitude for maths.
Excellent problem-solving skills.
A keen interest in the financial system.
Ability to work to deadlines, under pressure
preparing reports, commentaries and financial statements
liaising with managerial staff and presenting findings and recommendations
ensuring procedures, policies, legislation and regulations are correctly followed and complied with
undertaking reviews of wages.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
this programme was well structured for the most part however as it was busy season it was sometimes badly resourced and with all clients coming to the end of the audit it was sometimes hard to be properly coached. however this also meant we could learn a lot if the coaches were good.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
i received quite a lot of support from my employer with regualr calls when i felt like it was necessary from career coaches and my buddy who was also a flying start this allowed me to ask any questions i had when i needed them to be answered which made me feel well supported
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
3/5
i would say that i received wuite a bit of support however it was nevver that frequent howeber i do feel like if i did need to ask any questions then they would be answeredd as and when i needed them to be answered so i would say no issues
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
4/5
i think the training was important however i think was hard with it being remote as sometimes hard to follow may be going to quick and hard to quickly just go back or ask a question straight away but all in all the training allowed me to have a good foundation being able to navigate through certain files
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
1/5
this was hard as it was remote so not as easy to get involved and attend all the programmes as may have been busy working or with clients so it wasnt always that easily accessible to do this. may be easier eithout the corona virus as can see people in person
