Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

I am an Audit Associate at Asset Wealth Management in the More London office at PwC. My day-to-day role was to request supporting documentation form clients to confirm balances or explanations. I would then prepare working papers in which I would test aggregate amounts and any controls set in place.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I really enjoy my program because it is a good mix between working and studying. I have my normal university experience as well as work placements every year. It is really preparing an equipping me with the right skills to enter the workforce.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I've gained a lot of experience in Excel. I now know how to use different functions and it has helped me to become more efficient. I've also honed my communication skills quite a bit. Having difficult conversations was a big learning lesson for me.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?

The structure of the program is the main reason why I applied and joined this program. It is a structured in such an elegant way that I can study and qualify for exemptions for the ACA as well as have my work experience count towards the PWE requirement for the qualification.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I have received enormous support from employer. We are provided with a plethora of resources and contact from day one. I had my buddy, manager, career coach, tutors, program manager and course director support me through any problems.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

My qualification is aligned with my line of work. This really helps me do well in my exams and work.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

There are plenty of social activities to be involved with, even in lockdown. There were online cooking sessions, book reading sessions and even get to know new associates sessions.
