Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

My role is to look after babies aged 0-2 and record observations on their progress. I am given key children to focus on and I must create a relationship with them and their parents to ensure that the child is cared for whilst they are at nursery.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

I enjoy my programme very much. I love to learn new things and I am particularly interested in childcare.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

Yes. Prior to my training and taking on this role I had not worked in childcare so I have learnt a lot of skills. I have undergone first aid training and many other training programs to make me a well rounded practitioner.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

It is well organised. My tutor is very easy to contact and my sessions are planned well in advance and are fitted to my schedule.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

I receive some support however due to low staff numbers I do not get given much if any time to do any of my work whilst being paid at the setting. This means I have to do all of my training in my own time.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

I receive a lot of support. They are easy to contact and they are able to answer any of my queries very quickly.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It definitely makes me a more knowledgeable practitioner and makes me feel more confident that I am doing everything correctly.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

No. This may be due to COVID but we have no extra activities available.
