Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:

Working in teams to carry out statutory audits of clients in different industries. Taking part in the testing of various financial statement line items such as cash, PPE, payroll etc. Interacting with clients to get necessary information and to discuss potential queries with information provided.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?

It is very enjoyable as you get to learn new things every day, e.g. excel skills, how to audit different financial statement line items, and you get lots of responsibility early on to deal with clients. Therefore, you develop very quickly and get good team acknowledgement.
Skills Development
Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?

I have improved my excel skills such as the use of V-Lookups as well as formatting skills. I have improved my communication through calls with senior members of the client team, as well as with managers and partners in my PwC team.
Structure and Support
How well organised/structured is your programme?

The programme is extremely well organised with a good split between university and placement. Any queries are dealt with promptly either by the university or by PwC. There is a great mentorship scheme you can use to ask senior members of the course for help.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Every time I have asked for help, team members have been willing to talk through problems on calls which has been hugely helpful. I have never felt left alone to deal with problems.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?

The study manuals and website is very helpful as a resource.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?

It teaches me to deal with technically difficult concepts which you come across when working on placement, as well as coping with large amounts of content given to you. It also teaches you to manage time effectively as well as prioritisation.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)

Yes. I have taken part in socials at work which are set up by the team. There are also weekly quizzes I have had in my team, as well as 30 min slots for 'game time' every other day. These allow you to have some relaxation outside of audit.

Would you recommend PwC to a friend?

Why?
Allows you develop significantly as an individual, whether it be through communication skills, dealing with queries, dealing with large amounts of responsibility, managing tight deadlines, delegating etc. You also get good recognition from senior members of the team and everyone I have come across is extremely friendly.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to PwC?
Have a good understanding of the business in terms of their role in current affairs, as well as products/services they offer.
