Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.

My role as a summer intern is to work on the project I have been given at the start of my Internship. My approach to this project is up to me. As I am near the end of my project, my day-to-day tasks are focused around building a presentation.

Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?

Yes. I believe I was given a great deal of responsibility. I was completely responsible for how I approached my project and then interacting with various stakeholoders.

Have you learnt any new skills, or developed your existing skills?

I have learnt a lot of new excel and PowerPoint skills. The number of meetings I have had with a variety of different people has really improved my communication skills as well.

I was given a lot of support and guidance. The campus recruitment team were very approachable for any support and my manager and director also provided a high level of support to do with project related work.

Company Culture

What was the company culture and general atmosphere like?

I read before about the positive Amex company culture however, after being with the company for nearly 10 weeks I realize that the praise they get is very much deserved. Absolutely excellent culture consistent with every employee I met.

Overall Experience

To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?

I really enjoyed my internship! If it was possible to be in-person I could've gained added benefits, but for the circumstances, it was extremely enjoyable.
