Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
5/5
As Project Coordination & PMO Group Leader, I manage a team responsible for tracking projects for the resourcing requirements and forecasting purposes, thereby providing departments with visibility of capacity. The team, based across multiple sites, is also responsible for setting up projects in the financial system to track revenue, milestone payments and invoicing. My role is ensuring we deliver quality work, in a timely fashion and supporting the personal development of the team.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
4/5
A lot! It is really useful to have a combination of lectures, individual learning (through reading) and work-based projects. This enables you to apply the concepts you are learning to real situations. The students from the course are from a range of businesses which gives different perspectives.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
4/5
The first two modules covered – Contemporary strategy & adding organizational value including project management. They have provided useful tools which I will apply to my role in Charles River.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
4/5
It is well organized, especially since everything is being done remotely as a result of COVID-19. We receive regular communication and there is a good support network at Pearson College.
How much support do you receive from your employer?

Fantastic support. I have regular meetings with my line manager and a monthly meeting with HR. I also have a mentor within the CRL for additional support / help. There is a group of us from CRL on the course together which offers a brilliant support network.
