Overview of Role
Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
To ensure that drug compounds within the industry are safe for patients when they eventually become on market. I am frequently in the lab collecting data for this and then following this up by writing it in a lab notebook.
Were you given much responsibility during your placement / internship?
Yes, a lot. I managed my own project for 10 weeks and also I am a cruical member of my team here at AZ.

I have learnt a plethora of new skills from technical skills and proficiency in software and instruments to also personal skills such as communication and organisational skills.

Support and Guidance
How much support and guidance did you receive during your placement / internship?
There was a lot of support throughout the placement from my supervisor, line manager and throughout my team. However, I would recommend more support during the starting period as it is quite an overwhelming role. In addition, for the supervisor to be more lab based.

Amazing culture. Felt like I fit in from day one and are a very diverse company. General atmosphere = Happy to work there.

Be prepared for a tough year but also an enjoyable one. Don't be afraid to be yourself. Don't be scared to asked questions. Be confident!
