Overview of Role

Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis:
3/5
Currently, I am working in a section that gets in damaged parts and repairs them by using either hand or machine tools before sending them off to the customer.
To what extent do you enjoy your programme?
3/5
I somewhat enjoy my programme. It's fun to learn new things and meet new people. The work can be interesting but it can also have its dull moments.

Skills Development

Have you learnt any new skills or developed existing skills?
3/5
Yes, I have become more confident in using certain tools and in actively seeking out work to do.

Structure and Support

How well organised/structured is your programme?
2/5
My programme is organised to an extent. My specific programme is very old and outdated. A lot of the criteria to hit for my apprenticeship we don't do on site anymore, so I believe it needs updating.
How much support do you receive from your employer?
4/5
I do receive a lot of support from my employer. This includes my line manager, site manager and my ADL. They're always happy to help if I'm struggling.
How much support do you receive from your training provider when working towards your qualifications?
2/5
In the first year of my apprenticeship I had very good support from my training provider, now not so much. But I put that down to me not working on site with them directly anymore.
How well do you feel that your qualification (through your training provider) helps you to perform better in your role?
1/5
Like I mentioned before, the criteria for my qualification does not apply for the type of jobs or work that I will be doing after I finish my apprenticeship. The programme is outdated and therefore needs updating to suit the roles for the job better.
Are there extra-curricular activities to get involved in at your work? (For example, any social activities, sports teams, or even professional networking events.)
2/5
Some virtual events due to covid, but I don't always see the emails that come through.

Recommendations & Advice

Would you recommend Rolls-Royce to a friend?
Yes
Why?
Because they're a good employer. They look after you and they pay you very well for what you do. There's always support, be that from a manager or through the on-site union reps. The people I work with are always happy to help and the atmosphere in work is always positive and friendly.
What tips or advice would you give to others applying to Rolls-Royce?
Do your research, be confident but not cocky. When interviewing don't be scared to let your personality show. Look up previous interview candidates and experiences (glassdoor is very good for this). If you really want something you will make it happen.
