Please give an overview of your role and what this involves on a day-to-day basis.
Commerical banking interns in GTRF [trade and receivables finance] do a range of tasks:
-on the job learning about the products offered to clients
-observing/preparing for/taking notes of client meets and calls
-writing emails and creating spreadsheets
-prospecting new clients we could bring into the bank

-Responsibility to make sure my tasks e.g. writing summary emails are done on time

-lots of support available from graduates
-my line manager was also available at least once a week to ensure I had adequate support and work to do and to make sure the placement was meeting my expectations.

Overall Experience
To what extent did you enjoy your placement / internship?
I really enjoyed the placement. it was a great insight into the corporate world and i was able to learn a lot about the functions of the bank and how trade and receivables finance specifically works to help businesses fill gaps in their cash flow cycle
